Commemorative Hoodie – Beau Brungard, 2025 Walter Payton Award Winner  🏆

Springfield’s own and Youngstown State quarterback, Beau Brungard, capped a record-setting 2025 season by earning the Walter Payton Award, given annually to the most outstanding offensive player in FCS football — recognizing skill, leadership, perseverance, and excellence both on and off the field. Along the way, Beau also collected All-American honors, multiple FCS and conference accolades, and led the Penguins with grit and determination that embodies the spirit of Youngstown.

Choosing to return to YSU for the 2026 season, Beau continues to lead his team with the same “earn everything” mentality, inspiring teammates and fans alike.
